Before we arrive
Clear the bathroom of toiletries, towels, cabinets and anything on the windowsill.
Clear a path from the front door to the bathroom, and let us know about parking.
Decide where the team can fill kettles and access an outside tap or drain if there is one.
Tell us about pets, shift workers or anyone in the house who needs quiet at particular times.
What we do
Protect flooring, stair carpet and doorways, and set up dust control.
Isolate water and electrics to the bathroom only, so the rest of the house keeps running where possible.
Remove the suite, tiles and old boarding, then inspect what is behind. If anything unexpected turns up you will be shown it that day, not at the end.
Remove the waste from site and leave the room swept.
What to expect through the day
Typical hours are around 8am to 4pm unless we have agreed otherwise with you.
Water off for part of the day while the suite is disconnected, usually reinstated by the end of it.
Noise concentrated in the morning while tiles come off.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be home?
For the first day it helps, so we can agree access and go through anything found during strip-out. After that it is up to you.
Will the whole house lose water?
Usually only briefly. Wherever the isolation allows, we keep the rest of the house supplied.
Who are the people coming into my home?
Our own team, DBS checked, not subcontractors. You will meet the same faces each day.
What should I move before day one?
Clear the bathroom completely, including toiletries, towels and anything in cabinets, and clear the hallway and landing so the old suite and tiles can be carried out without obstruction.
